Dates for Semester 2 are 17th Jan 2016 – 19th May 2016.

Security/Booking Deposit

A total deposit of €320 is required upon booking. This is composed of €130 Irish Water deposit and €190 booking deposit. The booking deposit of €190 will be refunded less a €39 sanitisation fee at the end of year unless there are deductions for damages or arrears. The Irish Water deposit of €130 is refundable once proof of payment has been provided by the resident within two months after departure date. If proof of payment is not received or we are instructed to pay Irish Water on your behalf, we will pay on your behalf and any remaining balance will be retained for administration costs. In the case where first years had pre-booked and subsequently did not get sufficient points for their intended course, or chose to take up an alternative course following 2nd and 3rd round offers then an administration fee of €75 will be retained. The full deposit will be retained where somebody cancels his/her booking or leaves before the end of his/her lease except in the circumstances outlined above.

PLEASE NOTE:
Non First Year Students – cancellation date for €75 retained is 07/08/2015 after this date no Booking deposit refund is available, Irish Water Refund ONLY.
First Year Student – cancellation date for €75 retained is 21/08/2015 (CAO offers estimated at 17th) after this date no Booking deposit refund, is available Irish Water Refund ONLY.

Electricity

The Electricity deposit is payable at the start of each semester for electricity costs. This amount will cover the costs in almost all cases. The ESB meters will be read each month to monitor usage. Bills are added up during the year for each apartment and any overuse will be billed equally to the residents of the apartment.

Utilities

Utility Fees are paid at the start of each semester to cover other utility costs such as refuse collection, security, WIFI, multi-channel TV connection, Shuttle bus to UL and maintenance.

Irish Water

Bookings prior to (date of changes made ie 22/5/15) will be required to advance the additional Irish water deposit of €130 on or before payment of rental fees. New bookings made will be required to pay a total deposit of €320. The Irish Water deposit of €130 is refundable once proof of payment has been provided by the resident within two months after departure date. If proof of payment is not received Brookfield Hall will pay on their behalf from the deposit received and any remaining balance will be retained for administration costs. Due to alterations made bookings received before 22/5/15 can cancel before 19/06/15 to avail of a full €190 refund.

Eviction or Early Departure

If a student is evicted, no refunds of rental will be made.
In the case of early departure, the onus is on the student to find someone to take their room. Until a replacement has been found, the student will not be refunded. Please note that when a student leaves, Brookfield Hall management have the right to move another resident into that student’s vacant room. If this occurs, however, the student must still find a replacement for the room which is vacant.
