Eating at the University of Limerick

There is an extremely wide variety of restaurants to be found on the University of Limerick campus.  These restaurants cater for all budgets and tastes, most being very conscious of student’s budgets and a few others which are perfect when for you feel like treating yourself.

Stables Club
The Stables is a perfect place for both food and drink.  The Stables provides the perfect place for anything from a good morning fry up to pizza and a few drinks late in the evening.  The Stables is the main bar on campus for evening entertainment with the outdoor pavilion covered courtyard providing the perfect location for gigs.  Many events are held in the Stables throughout the year, check notice-boards for details of upcoming events.

Scholar's Club
Also known as Java’s, the Scholar's Club is located at the heart of the University of Limerick's Student Centre. The Club comprises of a bar serving breakfast first thing and carvery for the remainder of the day, the finest freshly ground coffee and some great pizzas in the evenings. 


University Arena Sports Club
The University Arena Sports Club is located next to all the sporting facilities on campus. It offers hot and cold dinners and snacks throughout the day.  A great sporting atmosphere can always be found here when one of the matches is being shown on the widescreen, it is the perfect place to sit back, have a few drinks and enjoy the game!

The Paddock
The Paddock is located in the Student Centre of the University and provides serves breakfast lunch and dinner.  A variety of delicious daily specials are always available as well as the made-to-order hot and cold sandwiches and rolls.

Plaza Café
The Plaza Café is located in the Glucksman Library. It serves hot and cold lunches and snacks.  Opening hours have been extended during the semester to provide hot and cold drinks and snacks in the evenings for those studying hard in the Library itself.
Plaza Café is operated by Castleoaks Catering Ltd.

Campbell Catering
Campbells Catering Ltd. provides the majority of catering facilities on campus. Within the main building of the University, Campbells runs the Block B Canteen, main restaurant, and private dining area. Campbells also runs restaurants in the Schumann, Sports, and CSIS Buildings.

This is an open plan area which is used by students and staff for coffee breaks and lunch. It contains three areas which are:

Sizzling Sausage
Art of Coffee
Red Raisins

Restaurant
An extensive selection of hot food and salads are available each day in the main restaurant.  A wallet-friendly daily special is also on offer.

Private Dining Room
Exclusive dining facilities are provided here.  A three course high quality menu is on offer each day.

Café Allegro, Foundation Building

This exquisitely stylish café offers speciality coffee, a wide variety of cakes and treats as well as some gourmet panini, delicious sandwiches and salads.

Café Sportif, Café Aroma, River Café, Café Verde and Cube Café - A variety of healthy options are offered in all these cafés, hot meals, salads, sandwiches and health drinks.

University Club
The University Club is located in Plassey House. In it’s formal setting it offers patrons a fine dining experience. The University Club is operated by Castleoaks Catering.

 Ciaran’s Café
