Today there will be a barbeque on site here in Brookfield Hall for our summer residents and members of the Munster Academy that have been staying with us. The Munster Academy have been working hard at pre season training that has been mainly taking place at the University of Limerick. They will take a short break from training today ahead of weekend games and join us for some food between 7 and 9.30. Congratulations to former Academy player Conor Murray who has climbed the ranks to secure a place in Declan Kidneys 30 man Irish squad to play at the Rugby World Cup. We wish him the best of luck along with the Munster Academy and the Munster senior team in the upcoming season.

CAO Results

This year there has been a rise in the amount of applicants looking to study at the University of Limerick. Courses involving Science and Mathematics have seen the biggest increase in applicants. Courses involving construction have seen a decrease in interest which is a reflection of the current economic climate. Pig’N'Porter 2011

The staff of Brookfield Hall are delighted to be welcoming teams who will be competing in this years Pig ‘N’ Porter event. Limerick’s Pig ‘N’ Porter Festival is a three day event held every July and this year, is celebrating its 10th anniversary!!!!

Old Crescent RFC, in association with the Irish Tag Rugby Association (ITRA), will host the 2011 Pig ‘N’ Porter Festival at its grounds in Rosbrien, Limerick between Friday 15 July and Sunday 17 July.

The festival, with SCRUMPTIOUS food and GREAT live music, is expected to attract in excess of 4,000 people to the venue for the largest Tag Rugby event in the world, with 120 participating teams.

Research Careers Fair and Networking event at U.L

Over 23 research centres, multinationals, technology and pharmaceutical companies came together at the University of Limerick to seek out the best of graduates and researchers to offer advise and employment opportunities.The UL Cooperative Education & Careers Division hosted athe event, which was a specialist event for research postgraduates in the Science, Engineering & Technology disciplines. It provided a unique opportunity for researchers and graduates to network with employer representatives from companies.Students staying at ul accommodation attended the event and were thrilled with the set up and the information and advice that was given.

Munster Academy

The staff of Brookfield Hall are delighted to be hosting the Munster rugby Academy for the duration of their summer pre season training.The Academy will be training in the exceptional facilities provided by the University of Limerick.The University is home to the Sports Arena that provides top quality sporting facilities that include the National Strength and Conditioning Centre, the National 50M pool, the Cardio Fitness Centre and the Sports Hall with indoor suspended running track. We hope that the pre season training goes well for the Academy so a good start can be made to the season and support and competition provided for the senior team.

Party on the Plaza

On Thursday 2nd of June the University of Limerick will host its annual “Party on the Plaza”. The event will take place on the main University plaza and North Campus Plaza.There will be plenty of food and refreshments for guests along with some great entertainment. Performers include the Camembert Quartet, Buck Taylor, The Fanzini Brothers, Samba Cuisle, Cruinniu and lots of street performers.
